Romania's annual inflation rate rose to 5% in March 2018, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous months, reaching the highest level since June 2013.

Food, other goods as well as services saw spikes of several percentage points last month.

In February this year, the National Bank of Romania reviewed its end of year inflation forecast upwards from 3.2% to 3.5%. It forecasts an inflation rate of 3.1% by the end of 2019.
