Thousands of people gathered in an old square in downtown Sibiu on Saturday morning to watch a spectacular folk costumes parade put up by Transylvanian Saxons as part of their annual reunion taking place in the Central Romanian coty these days. Hundreds of Saxons from dozens of towns and villages, each with its own heritage, attended the event.

The Saxons form a community that has lived in Central Romania for centuries before leaving en masse after the fall pf Communism. Since then, they have kept in touch with their origins through events such as the one currently taking place in Sibiu.

The project is supported by Therme and Selgros
