Protests are being organised in Bulgarian capital Sofia and in the Republic of Moldova in support of massive demonstrations taking place in Romania against government decisions that undermine the fight against corruption.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been protesting in Bucharest and other major Romanian cities against a series of measures recently adopted by the government, in a secretive manner, which undermine the anti-graft legislation and helps many officials accused of or sentenced for corruption.

The protests have been joined by others organised by the Roimanian Diaspora in many European capitals. But people in neighboring countries are organising their own protests of support now.

In Bulgaria, a Facebook event announces protests for Sunday evening, arguing that should Romania step back in its fight against corruption, it would be a terrible sign for Bulgaria as well.

And another protest is expected to take place in Moldovan capital Chisinau Friday evening, according to local media.
